Signature color: I have many- white, black, and burgundy to name a few.

Tradition or rule of etiquette: To be punctual, to listen attentively, and most of all
to express gratitude.

A decision I made on instinct: (too many) to continue grad school, even though the odds were against me.

A voice you carry with you from the past: (unfortunately it’s a negative voice) To prove to them all that I am not unworthy to live the life I was denied at childhood.

What do people misunderstand about women in their 60s? That we are still alive, that we still enjoy the best things in life and that we have reached that age where we deserve to live at peace. That I don’t have to look like my grandmother, I can still be stylish and elegant even if I’m just going to the supermarket.

A luxury you've learned to give yourself? I worked very hard in life. The struggles were real and the odds were all against me. But it’s all in the past, now it’s time to enjoy the fruits of my hard work and the countless prayer hours. I now walk in peace with my head lifted high. Nothing stopped me then, nothing will bother me now.
