SOVEREIGN MS. SPIRIT OF LOUISIANA 60s
Hometown: Franklin, Louisiana

Occupation: Assistant Office Manager

Favorite quote: Always turn your setbacks into stepping stones of success.

Personal motto: Always be a part of the solution not the problem.

Hobbies: Volunteering in my community, raising money for my favorite charity as well as reading a good fictional series.

Most cherished accomplishment: After my battles with cancer and the challenges I faced with healthcare and financial hardship, I was inspired to create the “Theresa and Friends Rock the Runway Fashion and Talent Show.” This annual event was born out of my desire to give back and provide hope to others walking a similar journey. What began 14 years ago as a personal mission has grown into a thriving community event that continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and families in need.

Cause or passion: My passion is raising money for my favorite charity which is the Lydia Cancer Association, which helps cancer patients with “right now” financial needs.

Signature color: Royal Blue

Tradition or rule of etiquette: One of my strongest rules of etiquette is to always be kind to others, share a smile or even a hug because you never know how that person's day may have been going or what situation they are facing at that moment.

A decision I made on instinct: Living out a lifelong dream of being in the pageant world although my journey did not begin until my 50’s.

A voice you carry with you from the past: My Grandmother’s voice is a strong presence in my life. Her strength, courage and ability to never give up or give in.

What do people misunderstand about women in their 60s? While women in their 60s have lived full and fulfilling lives, we remain in our prime... adorned with wisdom and endowed with stories still to be told.

A luxury you've learned to give yourself? Self-Care is really important to me. Taking time to just concentrate on me and my needs at that moment to refresh for what's ahead.
